What happens in a therapeutic group?

  • Sessions are facilitated by Dr Jenna Brough, a Perinatal Clinical Psychologist.

  • Each session will open and close with a therapeutic tool, exercise, or coping skill

  • You are part of a safe closed space with limited participants.

  • You will have the opportunity to discuss how your birth trauma has impacted you with others who understand what that’s like

  • You will have space to learn from others, feel validated in your thoughts and feelings, and better understand how to move forward

  • If you are not sure if the group will be right for you please book a free 15 minute call with Dr Jenna Brough to discuss this.

You will benefit from the group by:

Feeling connected to others who have been through similar experiences and who are currently pregnant, you may make connections that continue after the group ends.

Feeling validated when you talk about things you think other people won’t or don’t understand about pregnancy after birth trauma.

Being supported by a perinatal clinical psychologist who has worked with trauma for over 9 years.

Learning about the impact of trauma and applying this to understanding your experience and it’s impact on you.

Having space to reflect on your thoughts and feelings to understand them better

Learning how to manage some of those thoughts and feelings to feel more able to stay present and reduce anxiety in your current pregnancy

Facilitated by

I work in the NHS and private practice as a Perinatal Clinical Psychologist supporting people who have found their journey to becoming and in being parent, more difficult and stressful than they had anticipated or hoped it would be. I work with people who have developed anxiety, depression, and/or PTSD as a result of trauma and difficulties in trying to conceive or undergoing fertility treatment, and through baby loss, pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. These difficult experiences may cause you to struggle straight away or could surface when you are planning for another baby or are pregnant again. I also support systems and staff to understand the impact they have on their patients and clients to reduce avoidable trauma and emotional distress for people in the perinatal period. I am passionate about preventing distress and supporting people to access help when they need it. Offering 1:1 therapy, therapeutic groups, and online courses (coming soon), I hope you find an option that is accessible and affordable for you.
